Everyone who was in 127 last year can probably still recall the puzzled faces they would see occupying seats(yes sitting as well). Well if you ever wondered by that is a quick glance at Stubhub, Kijiji etc will give you that answer.
We are a little under 6 weeks away from the start of the season and here are the tickets available on Stubhub:
Sold as a full season: Row 9 - seats 9,10 for $912.50 each USD Row 9 - 2 seats but #s not listed for $940 each USD
Sold as individual games but entire season worth available: *opening day prices listed Row 14 - seats 17,18 for $90 each USD Row 16 - seats 8,9 for $92.20 each USD Row 14 - seats 19,20 for $96.30 each USD Row 11 - 2 seats but #s not listed for $167.80 each USD Row 4 - 8 seats but no seat #s listed $167.80 each USD
Kijiji:
Full season: Row 10 Aisle pair - $600 each Row 8 Pair - $650 total
as we can see that's 24 tickets available to EVERY GAME this season in 127 at well above face value.
This bothers me to no end, we are trying to build a community and basically have to resell ourselves every week. So if you are ever wondering why people are sitting, asking you to sit down, or in general look like they have no idea what is going on around them this is your answer.
Rant over if you are looking to sell off tickets in 127 i would encourage you to try and do it within the group so we can create the kind of atmosphere we want.

3 yrs ago I was put on the waiting list to get season seats. I still went to every game but I sat somewhere different every time. I hate to say it but besides the cost for these seats being really high, its the only way some people will be able to make it to games (they will lower prices closer to game day). I knew nothing about MLS or TFC before I attended a game with a friend. I've been to every game since and stubhub has supplied 2 years of those tickets, I became a SSH last year. Selling yourself every week to these new fans is important for what you are starting. Yes they won't understand the standing part but if...I mean when, they see how great the supporters section is and when they want to come back then you've done your job. The very first game I went to was in Columbus and I sat in their supporters section because that's where my friend is from...First thing I said was I hope its like this at home. Dislike the people selling their season seats, but welcome the new comers with open arms every week, show them who you are and tell them to come back.

That's a good point Kev... i have looked at the negatives with regard to these resale sites but no the positives.
I guess i always come back to the idea that if people are spending $100+ per ticket they will not want to have their view blocked by people standing in front of them or flags waving or the potential for foul language coming from the people around them. I forget that some may enjoy the atmosphere that is part of the section and the community feel supporters sections bring to the stadium, if they do then it is great and hopefully a win win for both us as a group and them and individuals.

From my perspective, I do not like the fact that people essentially are being gouged for the seats. I many cases people are paying double the real price for the season. I guess it's always buyer beware, however I'm not sure how many that are buying really understand the true cost of their seat. I almost want to create a short information hand out for those seats to inform them of the true cost. Let the dissatisfied spread things by word of mouth.
As for those who come, we'll welcome them, however I want to make sure they understand what the section is about. Can't have people complaining again about standing up, and flags etc..

need the tickets to explain the type of section and happens in a supporters section I believe they do somewhere on the tickets and it does say "obstructed view" on stubhub but for people who have no idea whats going on that may not mean much. I believe signage will be increased this year but still some people will complain if they want to sit and have their view blocked (imagine spending more for a pair of tickets to 1 game than we pay for a full season seat and you could understand why some people may get upset). It would be great if everyone that shows up and didn't know what they were getting into joined in and really liked what is going on... especially the people that may spend $1000+ for a full season ticket. BUTWe really need to make sure that both the club and us have a defined protocol for dealing with anyone who doesn't want to be in a supporters section.

The good thing will be as we grow we'll soon be able to move like minded supporters into those seats at regular prices. It's just a matter of time really.
